Inside International House is an auditory and visual journey through the lives of residents of International House NYC, an international living-learning community created by Harry Edmonds with funding from the Rockefeller family in 1924. The project combines photos, interviews, and a reflection essay to give outsiders a look into what it means to be a part of this unique and exclusive institution. Through the interviews with resident and alumni narrators, this website explores what it means to be a part of the larger legacy woven into the tapestry of International House. The photo series expands the inner lives of current residents through the canvas of how residents have chosen to live within their identical 8’x11’ rooms. The essay brings together these conceptual elements to discuss the evolution of internationalism within the house, supplemented by International House archival records.

She first worked with the VA-sponsored Veterans Legacy Program, where she worked in archival research to preserve the history of fallen soldiers buried in Florida cemeteries. From there, she discovered a love of oral history working with the Veterans History Project, interviewing Central Florida Veterans of U.S. Wars to record in the Library of Congress
For her thesis, she created an audio-visual experience entitled “Inside International House.” Inside International House is a journey through the lives of residents of International House NYC, an international living-learning community created by Harry Edmonds with funding from the Rockefeller family in 1924.
